What’s Behind Anzac Day?

Anzac (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) is a standout amongst the most significant national events celebrated in Australia on April 25th. The mark it is the commemoration of the first real military action that driven by Australian and New Zealand amid the First World War. The officers that joined the armed force are promptly perceived as Anzacs and the valiance that they have get on that day, are still remembered.

At the point when Britain declared war in Augusts 1914 Australia was promptly put in favor of the Commonwealth. Keeping in mind the end goal to open the Dardanelles to the unified naval forces, in 1915 Australian and New Zealand warriors go up against a mission to grab the Gallipoli promontory in. A definitive objective was to seize Constantinople, the capital of the Ottoman Empire and it is related with Germany.

The Australia and New Zealand troopers touched base on Gallipoli on April 25, experiencing the furious resistance from Ottoman Turkish defender. The arrangement was to strike Turkey out of the war and the development goes on for 8 months. Toward the finish of 1915 the united fighters were left from the landmass, with both sides’ bears the demolition. More than 8,000 Australian military faculties had kicked the bucket in the development. Despite the fact that the Gallipoli is in their home domain they have still encountered the immense effect from Australian fighters. That is the reason April 25 turned into the day for the Aussie's to recollect the hardship of the war veterans who kicked the bucket and battled in the war.

Conceding that the Gallipoli development flopped in its military target, the exertion of Australian and New Zealand officers amid the development leaves a solid heritage. Since they are known as the "Anzac legend" it turned into a profitable piece of their normal for both nations.

International Graduates Percentage Rate vs. Local Students

Geographically Australia is the 6TH largest country in the world, with a population of almost 25,000,000. Australia is leading in terms of quality education. Students from other countries are engaged in studying in Australia, they are not only dynamic and modernized but they are consistently placed first in dominating universities and institutions. For the aspirant student that seeks for quality education, Australia is the place for you.

The previous updates from the Department of Education and Training in Australia announced that international students have graduated on time than the local student. The ratio said there is 70% of international students that have had graduated compared to the local students that have only 45% of total graduates in the country. According to Non-University Higher Education Institutions (NUHEIs), the ratio of International students graduated sweep-off 62%, much greater compared to the Australian Domestic student's graduates that have only 39%. These are base of the given period of 9 years analysis. The report interpreted that International students dominate the number of graduate than the domestic student.
There are many factors that influence the numbers of a graduate student:
• The age of the student
• Attendance if the student is full-time or part-time
These two factors play an important role in a life of a student if they can graduate at right time or not.
Few more factors that have an impact on the student’s career:
• Gender of the student
• Social status of the student
• Doesn’t Speak English
• Financial status of the student
• Inherent of the student
The ratio of the part-time student passed is lower than the full-time student. The data is concerned with the development of the student. They are looking for a way to fill-up or answer what is lacking to a student to bring excellence to the community.

Reason behind the percentage

There are several reasons why this happens, as for the local student it is possible because of a group of friends of the student that are luring him/her away from the pathway of wanting to graduate and be distracted. For an International student, they are high on ratio of graduates because of the eagerness and determination to graduate as fast as they can. They want to go back in their hometown with a well-equipped knowledge and experience.

One of the institution that is now accepting local student and International student is Kensington Institute of Australia, for more question regarding the requirements, course or payment, you can visit our website http://kensington.edu.au/ and call us at +61399997959 or visit our main office located at Level 1, 20 Otter Street, Collingwood, VIC 3066, Australia.

Australia’s Best Waterside Interest

Most of the hobbies of an Australian are something always related with the sea. The best hobby is when it is cheap because more people will be attracted to it; these are some that need to be highlighted:

Fishing
There is no question that this is the most practice hobby of an Australian during their vacant time. A nice set of fishing rod, hook and bucket bait will no really cost you too much. There are times that you are in luck and will catch a lot of fish that you can sell in the markets or you can store it at our home for food consumption. Considering also that there are beaches, lagoons and coast that has a free access to the public but fishing in Australia will be requiring you to provide a license depending on the state you are living. Also don’t forget to surf the net or get a booklet for fishing to know the dos and don’ts, such as allowed sizes of fish and maximum quantities.

Surf
Many consider this as a sport but the truth is the majority of surfers are only doing this for fun, not a competition. Going south along the Agnes Water is the best spot because it is outside the great barriers reef. They receive the first wave there, then changes to West and up again until Broome in West Australia where you can find lots of surfing spot during the year. Almost all the Australian lives in the coast, so practicing surf is everywhere.  A brand new surfboard will really cost you but there is a shop that sells 2nd hands surfboard, yet it is in still good condition.

Boating
Australians are a fan of owning boats, displaying different kinds of sizes and models. For example is the Dinghy are one of the well-known kind of boat that can take 4 people and has a motor engine that can speed up to 15HP (Horse Power). Adding a trailer so it can be towed by your car to go all the river, estuaries and canals that you want to visit. These aluminum boats are usually parked or stored at the back of the house and garages. A lot of Australian uses boat like this for fishing and relaxation.

Rugby
Golf and Cricket are the best sports to do as their recreational activity in Australia. Cricket because it is best to do with the family and Golf because of the absence of noise it makes them relax. We can feature a very classic Australian hobby, which is Rugby. In this sport, each player will roll a ball and try to get near the ball master and try to displace the opponent. The field is a short yard. In addition, this is more practice by the older generation and on the other hand, there are few young players as well.
There are abundant hobbies such as BBQ’s and picnic in the park with their family or friends.  They give so much value in gardening, where water restriction is a real concern to them. Anyway, the specific recreational activities said above were the most popular and here are more sports in Australia that they treat as hobbies.

Etiquette, Language, Culture & Business in Australia

Language
Australia is a home of 160 nations by 5 million immigrants, that’s why they are rich in cultural diversity. Australians are a laid-back type of a person, direct and they value equality in the community, so everything they say towards you is from what they saw. Australian English spelling, accent, and grammar are closer to British spelling than to American spelling.

Names
Naming in Australia is same with the format of UK (United Kingdom): first names, middle name (optional), and surname. Commonly, an Australian child follows the surname of the father but it is not necessary for them to follow that format. Usually, the married couples in Australia still have options on doing this. For the unmarried couple, the child should be registered with the mother surname unless both parents agree to use the father surname.

Clothing
How they dress is influenced by their activities such as surfing, swimming, and beach culture. As their national code, they have adopted board shorts, thongs and colorful shirts for both male and female but females also adopted the Indonesia loose-flowing “Sarong”. Children wear long-sleeved tops and sunhat, for protection from the heat of the sun.

Religion
Australia has a neutral belief in religion or should I say that they are free from any religious teaching even from the imposition of the government of religious practices from its people. Religious organizations played an important role in the community of developing health, education and welfare services. Roman Catholic is the biggest religious group in Australia and they are also the largest non-government provider of health and educational services.

First Meeting
For business practices or not, shaking hands with a person that you only meet someone for the first time in Australia is also polite for them. It is also polite to them, not to ask personal matters, that you only met for a few times. Australians is more likely informal in their casual interactions and it is accepted in their community to call a person by their first name only. You can call someone by their surname or by their title but it is unnecessary or formal for most situations. Business meetings or any business activities are exceptional to these things.

Business meetings
Business time is usually Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. As what I said above Australians are direct and straightforward. They don’t acknowledge “hard sell” but instead they acknowledge accurate information and humility that delivers or approach in a friendly way that prevents from self-importance. Decision making in Australia takes time because top management in Australia consults with subordinates before making big decisions, patience is also acknowledged.

Socialization
They have also gift giving during birthdays and Christmas. Gifts are opened immediately in front of the giver. It is the Australian culture to give a tip to your worker with a small amount of cash, a 6 pack of beer or a bottle of wine. It is hard to imagine an Aussie, not holding a cold beer in their hands because in Australia there will be lots of invite to their homes for such occasions, it’s common to them bring to bring your own alcoholic drinks with you.

Korean Immigrants in Australia

Korea and Australia History
When world heard the news about the Korean War. Australia was there to help South Korea, this happens during 1950’s. South Korea was delightful when the Australian occur in between the war to negotiate. Eventually, the troops from Australia were pulled out after the ceasefire agreement has been implemented in Korea. From that, the relationship between these two countries had rapidly grown.
Both represent the Asia Pacific Cooperation, these show their relationship is healthy and ended up with a positive outcome. Australia and Korea have announced a security agreement that is identical to the agreement with Japan and Australia. They discussed with future participation and free trade agreement. Until now the Korean still thankful for Australia negotiation in the Korean War, and they consider Australia as their very important colleague in the country.

Australia accepting Korea’s friendship
Australia wants to associate with other countries and expand their trade activities. Despite their differences in culture and way of life, mutual understanding in both state even they will experience a language barrier or gap on their communication but they still they make a good diplomatic connection to each other. They signed a bilateral agreement for economic progress and diversity. The relationship was strengthened by Australia's participation in the United Nations. The free trade relation shares a major factor in both economic growth and state growth. Alike to other associated countries, they also shared perspective for development to its economic interest and protection.

Adapting Australia’s culture by learning their language
Immigration to Australia has become inclusive; Australia has opened new opportunities for those overseas workers and students that like to study. Koreans come to Australia with the longing for a better quality of life, came with their families and attended an institution that provides English classes. Overseas students cannot just simply be enrolled in an Australian school without a certain process. Students who wants to come in Australia must be prepared to comply all the necessary requirements and be able to prove that he/she has the financial capacity to live in Australia during his/her training program.

For those students that don’t use English as their native language are required to determine their IELTS level before they arrive in the university they have applied, depending on the required score of the school so it will determine their capacity in reading, speaking, writing and listening skills in English language. This will enable the learner to be equipped as you study in countries that English is highly been used for their communication. There are more than thousands of Korean exchange student that are successful in their career as they study in Australia.

Experience Different Seasons in Australia

If you will ask me “what is like the climate in Australia?” “When is the best month to travel in Australia?” These are the questions that are always asked to me and to tell you frankly, it’s hard to answer because of the geographical structure of Australia compare to another country. Australia is huge in land mass, so it has many different types of temperature and choosing the best time to travel in Australia can be influenced by your interest and budget of course, for example, if you have an interest in diving, you can visit “Great Barrier of Reef” to see the Minke Whales, you should prefer June because these are the time that the whales migrate there.

Commonly the northeastern part of Australia is the warmest; it makes sense because it is the closest to the equator. Kind of weird because even though it is the summer season in the Northeast, it is also the time when rainfalls are often to be experienced. So if you want to travel in Australia it is best to plan ahead when is the best time for you to travel in Australia and bring always an umbrella with you, if you are planning to go out.

Four Seasons in Australia

Summer is in December to February these are the months the country is at its warmest temperature, but January through February the “hot spell” occur, it can take 3 days straight that the temperature rises up to 25°C, they call it hot spell because Australia’s top temperature of the year shows these months. From December the daylight is very long which sunrise starts at 06:00 am and sunset at 08:30 pm.

Autumn is in March to May; it has an average temperature 20°C, mornings in these months usually clears out the fog to welcome the sunlight, but at the end of the autumn season usually meets you with light winds.

Winter is in June to August, Australia will experience snow falls only on the northeast side of the country, the rest of the city snow is rarely to be experienced, the temperature can fall down to 6°C. Climate these months is obviously at its coldest and the night can be a cover-up by frost. Heavy rain at these times of the year in Australia is rarely can be experienced by the residence. Starts of smallest hours of daylight is June, the sunrise start at 07:30 am while the sunset start at 05:00 pm. These months are also the time for the Australian to experience the driest season.

Spring is in September to November, it reaches only 10°C. The season is familiar with the most unpredictable climate of the month because the weather can shift from sunny to windy just like that. October is the wettest month of the year; it is possible in this month to rain in 10 straight days.

So planning ahead of time is a wise decision to make, you can choose which month is best for your list of activities you are going to do in Australia. Information above will definitely benefit you. Australia is a land of extremes; watch out for kangaroos and other animals that you may encounter in the Outback. Don’t forget to have an extra fuel to enjoy your trip.
