Aussies April Activities

April is the month of chocolate in the year, and Melbourne has lots of goodies event to the central city. Aside from eating Easter chocolate, bunnies will waddle your way to terrific things to do in April:

 City of Architecture
You can now wander the unique Architectural city around the world without departing Australia. This is presented by the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, it covers the history of the city, one each month. This April they will feature Venice and it is combined with free cocktail or whiskey that is made by a Gin Company in Melbourne and Starward Whisky.

Twin peaks trivia
Carlton Club is throwing its first trivia night and the topic that will be tackled is about the belief of David Lynch TV show, Twin peaks. They are selling a $150 Carlton Club ticket every week and you are obliged to dress appropriately. The abundance of bar food will be ready to serve and live music will be played throughout the night. It opens Tuesday nights in April.

Stencil art classes
                This event is completely free, and the artists are from Melbourne-based Blender Studios, stencil classes and opens every Thursday. Gain tips and tricks to enhance your stencil skills and you can bring home on what you have created in the event. Start at noon, every Thursday of April.

Festival of Photography
50th year Festival of Photography is displaying a marvelous collection of new photography exhibitions at the National Gallery of Victoria. The artist that will be featured is William Eggleton but an artist from Melbourne will also be featured such as, Polly Borland Sophie Calle, Paola Pivi, Zoë Croggon and Elad Lassry. It will celebrate for the whole month of April, and most of it is free.

City Link Run for the Kids
All runners, walkers, and athletes in-between will be taking-off on a race on the 9th April (Sunday) for the yearly Run for the Kids. This all for a good cause and profit of the event will all go to Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. If you didn’t come on time during the registration, you can still go, cheer and still donate or visit the Family Fun Zone for giants, mini-golf and more. There is no better reason to stay inside the house on a Sunday morning.

Anniversary of the Music and Life of Prince
The Gold Standard and Nina Ferro are performing the piece of one of the most adored artist in the history of music. The first anniversary was dedicated to Prince, something amazing throughout the night was guaranteed it starts on 21st April (Friday).

Melbourne International Comedy Festival
Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) is back with a gigantic line-up of Australian and international performers. Now book yourself a ticket because it has an affordable tickets price that will sell in no time or enjoy the program at the Famous Spiegel tent. In addition, another highlights including the Silent Comedy Festival at Arbory Bar it is the first ever venue to start a silent comedy. Why silent? It is silent because you have to wear earphone in order to hear them. Tequila, tacos, and comedy are a perfect combination, Lasts until 23rd of April.

Martini Masterclasses  
A well-known bar Eau de Vie is offering you wide range of world class creation of cocktail you love, near to you. It is best for parties, business gatherings, family and group of friends. A deep monthly appreciation of the classic cocktails, spirit and more are launched couple of months ago. The Masterclass on April 24 is intended for the martini and titled it as the “King of cocktail”. Future classes will be:
•    Ride the green Fairy – Absinthe debunked (June)
•    Chocolate and Whisky – A match made in heaven (July)

Van Gogh and the Seasons
The chosen Australian location for the highly expected exhibition opening is on Melbourne at NGV international on April 28. Organized by Sjraar Van Heugten, it will showcase the works from the Amsterdam Museum, Van Gogh Museum, and Kröller-Müller Museum.  If you are a type of a person that enjoys beers alongside an art, make a date to experience it at NGV on a Friday night, it will be full of art, music, and bar, no need to rush tour the exhibition until 10 pm.

Ginger pride rally
This year is its 2nd celebration of Melbourne’s Ginger Pride rally and it is now coming back for another blazing and glowing year. Last year’s rally was a blast because there are thousands of honored redheads go to the streets. Collect your red-headed vigilantes because when the rally is finished there will be free ginger beers and pop-up program at Federation Square it starts on 29th of April (Saturday).
