    Online Application through their Social Security website
    Visiting their local Social Security office
·    Calling Social Security toll-free number at 1-800-772-1213, from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 7 pm.

Qualification for Medicare:
    An Australian citizen that lives in Australia
    New Zealand citizen chooses to live in Australia
    A person that holds Resident Return visa that lives in Australia
    Resident of Reciprocal Health Care Agreement (RHCA) that is visiting Australia

    A candidate for permanent residency in Australia that has the authorization to work or can verify that he/she has a relationship with an Australian citizen.
